Half-Day Trip to the Rhine Falls and Laufen Castle
Description
This trip takes you to Northern Switzerland, a beautiful wine-growing region with charming farming villages. After paying a visit to the medieval Laufen Castle, visitors enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Belvedere panoramic trail to the Känzeli viewing platform, which lies directly over the largest waterfall in Europe.
Here on average 600,000 liters of water per second thunder down over the rocks into the 150m (500ft) wide basin. During the summer season, it is also possible to take a short boat trip in the swirling water in the falls basin (surcharge: adults CHF 12, children CHF 8). Access to boat dock: natural path and stairs > not suitable for people with limited mobility and strollers.
The spectacular view from the panoramic lift and a visit to the Historama exhibition round off the tour before crossing the German border (passports required) via Schaffhausen and heading back to Zurich.
